It all began many moons ago (1998) for Rock Gear Distribution.  The business was born out of it's owner's inherent love of playing outside on the mountains and in the rivers. Rock Gear saw its foundation begin as a guiding and expedition company running outdoor trips and tours throughout the Canadian Rockies.  A marketing trip to the Europe (for the purpose of recruiting expedition clients), brought a chance encounter with a few different gear lines and the suggestion that these lines should be available in Canada but only needed a distributing partner.  And so the Distribution services began. The company has since thrived, and now distributes 17 lines nation-wide across Canada.

The main office and warehouse / distribution centre for Rock Gear Distribution is located in the majestic Crowsnest Pass, Alberta (190km south of Calgary).  Our home is a mountain wonderland full of crystal clear kayaking rivers, beautiful snow-capped peaks, untouched and often untravelled backcountry trekking terrain, and is a Mecca for just about every outdoor pursuit imaginable!
